Fractional CO₂ laser in Puerto Banús, Marbella
A medical laser that works on skin texture, fine lines and scars. The doctor examines your skin in consultation, tells you whether this laser is right for you and sets the protocol.

What does it involve?
The fractional CO₂ laser works on the skin in tiny microscopic areas: it removes part of the surface layers in a controlled way and stimulates collagen production deeper down.
It can improve texture, fine lines, acne or surgical scars and uneven tone. The number of sessions depends on each case: for deeper scars or marked pigmentation, several may be advised, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart.

How it goes
Consultation and diagnosis
The doctor examines your skin or the lesion, reviews your history and medication, and tells you whether the treatment is right for you. If a lesion needs further tests, we tell you first.
Preparation
We clean the area and, depending on the treatment, apply a cooling gel or an anaesthetic cream. With laser or pulsed light, you wear protective glasses throughout the session.
Session
We apply the device to the area with settings adapted to your skin. You may feel warmth or tingling; the sensation varies from person to person.
Afterwards
Redness or slight swelling is common and generally short-lived. Avoid direct sun, use high-factor sun protection on the area and follow the instructions we give you for the following days.
Good to know
The doctor assesses in consultation whether the treatment is right for you. As a rule it is not performed during pregnancy, on tanned or recently sun-exposed skin, or if there is an infection or a wound in the area. Some medicines make the skin more sensitive to light: please tell us about all your medication, allergies and previous treatments, any tendency to keloid scars or to dark marks after inflammation, and whether you have a pacemaker or another implant.
Your questions
Is it painful?
Most patients feel warmth or tingling. If needed, we apply a topical anaesthetic cream beforehand for your comfort.
How many sessions are needed?
As a guide, one or two in many cases. For deeper scars or marked pigmentation, several may be recommended, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. The doctor tells you after examining your skin.
What happens in the following days?
Redness, slight swelling or peeling are common; they are part of recovery and usually settle within one or two weeks. During that time the skin must be carefully protected from the sun.
Is it suitable for everyone?
No. If you have an active skin condition or a tendency to keloid scars, it is generally not the right option. That is why we always carry out a full consultation before treatment.
Can I have it during my holiday?
It is best planned away from strong sun exposure, leaving time to recover before any event. The doctor advises you on the right moment for your stay.
