Radiesse® calcium hydroxylapatite in Puerto Banús, Marbella
Radiesse® is a calcium hydroxylapatite injectable that the doctor uses to add support to specific areas of the face and to stimulate the skin’s own collagen. It all starts with a consultation, where the doctor assesses whether it suits you and in which areas.

What does it involve?
The doctor injects Radiesse® into the areas agreed with you. The product is made of calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres in a gel: the gel adds support to the treated area, and over time the microspheres encourage natural collagen production.
It is not used on every area of the face. The doctor tells you where it makes sense for you, how much product to use and whether a further session would be advisable later on. The response varies from person to person.

How it goes
Consultation
We examine your skin and talk about what you want. The doctor explains which treatment may suit you and how many sessions to plan, or tells you if now is not the time.
Preparation
We cleanse and disinfect the skin. Depending on the treatment, we first apply a topical anaesthetic cream for your comfort.
Treatment
The doctor makes the injections with a fine needle in the areas agreed with you.
Afterwards
Redness, slight swelling or a small bruise may appear, usually fading within a few days. We give you written aftercare instructions and, if there are several sessions, agree the schedule with you.
Good to know
The doctor assesses in consultation whether the treatment is right for you. As a rule it is not performed during pregnancy or breastfeeding, nor if there is an active infection or inflammation in the area. Please tell us about your allergies, your medication, especially anticoagulants, and your previous treatments. Changes in the skin are assessed over the weeks and vary from person to person.
Your questions
Is it the same as a hyaluronic acid filler?
No. It is a different substance, calcium hydroxylapatite, which adds support and also stimulates collagen. Unlike hyaluronic acid, it cannot be dissolved with an enzyme, which is why the doctor chooses the areas and the amount carefully.
Which areas is it used on?
The doctor decides in consultation. Radiesse® is not used on every area of the face, and for some areas the doctor may prefer another product. We explain the plan and the quote in writing.
How many sessions are needed?
It depends on each person and on the areas treated. The doctor tells you whether one session is enough or whether to repeat later, and we confirm the quote in writing.
What can happen afterwards?
As a rule you can return to your usual activities the same day. Redness, slight swelling or a small bruise may appear at the injection points, usually fading within a few days. We give you written aftercare instructions.
