Geisha facial
A facial ritual inspired by the traditional skincare of the geishas, combining natural ingredients with a Kobido massage. We begin with a skin assessment to make sure it is the right ritual for you.
What does it involve?
Its best-known ingredient is nightingale droppings in powder form, traditionally used in Japan for their natural enzymes, which gently exfoliate the skin. They are combined with rice bran and seaweed extracts, which nourish and soothe.
Every Geisha facial includes a Kobido facial massage. It is performed on the face and neck, and the session lasts 45 to 60 minutes, depending on the steps included.

Skin assessment
We look at your skin and ask about your routine and what you would like. If the ritual is not the most suitable for you, we tell you and suggest another.
Preparation
In a quiet treatment room, we remove make-up and cleanse the skin to prepare it.

Our team carries out the protocol agreed with you, step by step, adapting the products and movements to your skin.

We explain how to care for your skin in the following days, with hydration and sun protection, and how often to come back if you wish.
Good to know
Before each ritual, our team checks the condition of your skin. As a rule we do not perform it on skin that is irritated, broken, sunburnt or has an active infection, such as a cold sore. Please tell us if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, if you are allergic to any cosmetic, and if you are following a dermatological treatment or have recently had an aesthetic medical treatment. If a mark, a mole or a skin lesion concerns you, one of our doctors examines it first.

What are nightingale droppings?
It is a traditional ingredient in Japanese skincare. It is used as a fine powder for its natural enzymes, which help remove dead cells. If you have allergies or questions, mention them during the assessment.
When will I notice the effects?
Many people find their skin softer at the end of the session, depending on each person. With regular sessions, the effect is usually more consistent.
How does it differ from the Kobido massage?
Kobido is the massage alone. The Geisha facial adds the enzyme exfoliation and the ritual’s nourishing extracts, and includes a Kobido.
Is it uncomfortable?
Generally not. It is a calm ritual, also designed as a moment of rest.
